Hollow Tree
03:41
|
|||
driving through town on a cold winter day
i thought of places where I'd run away
to try and hide
follow me
under this hollow tree
where we can stay at night
and i'll hold you tight
time after time i have felt my heart break
it's getting harder for me to take
but you are true
follow me
under this hollow tree
where we can stay at night
and i'll hold you tight
and if the moment is right
the sky will shine

Inside
03:35
|
|||
walk away from the light
over the fence to the other side
look beyond the screen
it's a movie remake scene by scene
with a new cast that's double the size
and they talk so fast it distorts the li(n)es
but the contrast has a beautiful disguise
spilling over the edge
a couple hang on to the ledge
waiting for the kill
waiting on the hill
the still life is washed in grey
where night and day just look the same
tonight, the bottle is in the tide
along the countryside
the waves will make a great divide
and the butterflies will stay trapped inside
one cannot replace
disappear without a trace
throwing paint on a wall
doesn't seem to cover all the shadows, invisible cracks
the color goes from red to black
before you know, the drip is on your back
inside
walk away from the light
over the fence to the other side
look beyond the screen
beyond the big machine

Through The Glass
04:54
|
|||
red lights
flash outside
my window
no surprise
they will be back
tomorrow
sometimes i cry
sometimes i occupy the silence with laughter
take care love
it's been so nice with you
and i will continue
to look through the glass
until it passes by
day into night
year after year
it rises
with no explanation
and no sympathy
and many compromises
sometimes i think
sometime i drink until my face is smiling uncontrollable
when we can feel
when it is real
when we can heal
i'll walk out the door and i'll run up to you
i'll say all the things that i wanted to before
you're not here anymore
take care love
it's been so nice with you
and i will continue
to look through the glass
until i pass by
look through the glass
maybe next time i'll belong
