A song I've wanted to record for a while. It was written with a driving rock feel, but we tried more of a waltz for this version. Great performance from the rhythm section on this.-RM
I set out to stay close to what Randy had recorded in the original demo. Upon first listen, I didn't feel there was much to improve on or flush out; considerable thought had been put into the song already. When it was decided to break everything down into more of an acoustic-driven sound, I streamlined the bassline while retaining the melodic and thematic elements, just with less notes.-MW
lyrics
driving through town on a cold winter day
i thought of places where I'd run away
to try and hide
follow me
under this hollow tree
where we can stay at night
and i'll hold you tight
time after time i have felt my heart break
it's getting harder for me to take
but you are true
follow me
under this hollow tree
where we can stay at night
and i'll hold you tight
and if the moment is right
the sky will shine

I find a new favorite with every playthrough of Idle! Currently it's "Real." In fact, I'm kind of in love with the whole block of tracks (13-18). Hoping for more acoustic stuff in the future!! Carley Jean
